Tyrone Area 3rd and 4th Grade Basketball

Walk’s Trade took it to DeGols by a score of 22-4 to stay just one game back of front-running Tyrone Elks in the first game reported in the Tyrone YMCA 3rd and 4th grade basketball league. Brooke Pierson led a well-balenced attack with six points for the winners, folwed by Richard Crabtree and Richard Stever with four points each and Derek Emigh, Jimmy Ferguson, Chelsey Hook and Olivia Stever all with two points. Kevin Rodkey had all four of DeGol’s points.
O’s Sew Shop defeated Michaels’ Photography 17-9 behind a league-high 12 points for Kyler Johnson. Tyler Glashouser and Brent Stewart had two points each for O’s Sew Shop and Ian Murray had one point. Derek Denny fronted Michael’s with eight points and Rayne Neving got the other score.
DelGrosso’s picked up their first win of the season in a very low-scoring 6-2 win over Tyrone Colonial Courtyard. Kaleb Chronister led DelGrosso’s with four points and Joshua Burwell added two points. Kayla Swope tallied Tyrone Colonial’s two points.
Tyrone Elks remained undefeated in the final contest turning back Frito Lay 16-10. Charley Burket scored eight points and Korry Cowher and Justin Miller had four points each for the Elks, while Brianna Hoover and Casey Baird led Frito Lay with four and Jordan Fareta had two points.

DeGol’s (2-7) picked up their second win of the season by doubling up Tyrone Colonial Courtyard 24-12. James Russell led DeGol’s with 10 points, and Tucker Hardy fronted Tyrone Colonial (1-8) with three points.
In the closest contest of the day, DelGrosso’s (2-7) edged Michaels’ Photography 20-17. Thad O’Shea paced the winners with five points and Derek Denny had 10 points for Michaels’ (4-5).
Walk’s Trades (8-1) decisioned Frito Lay 28-10 with a league-high 14 points from Derrick Emigh leading the way. Casey Baird had eight points for Frito Lay (5-4).
Tyrone Elks (9-0) lept their undefeated string intact with a 22-18 triumph over O’s Sew Shop (5-4). Denver Burket and Korry Cowher each had six points to lead the winners, while Tyler Glashouser had a game-high eight ponts for O’s Sew Shop.

Men’s 25 and Over League

Reliance Bank edged Joshua House by a single point 79-78, in the opening game in the Men’s 25 and Over League. Craig Hunter led Reliance with 22 points, while Jim Kilmartin poured in a league-high 29 points for Joshua House.
Team # 3 used 25 points by Jim Koeller to down a pesky P. S. Printing 73-67 who were bidding for their first win. P. S. Printing was fronted by Rich Shoop with 15 points.
Hampton Inn defeated Independents 69-50. Steve Bryant led Hampton Inn with 17 points and Randy Gorecki had 20 points for Independents.
Jan 15.
Reliace Savings poured in a season-high 94 points in defeating Hampton Inn 94-75 and remain undefeated at 5-0. Craig Hunter scored a league-high 29 points for Reliance, while Richard Stever scored 16 points for Hampton Inn (2-3).
Joshua House (4-1) used a 25-point performance by Travis Anderson to knock off Team # 3 88-72. Mark Deubeis led Team # 3 (3-2) with 25 points also.
P. S. Printing won for the first time, defeating Independents 75-49. Rich Shoop led P. S. Printing with 21 points and Jim Cushion had 17 points to front Independents (0-5).
