The Blair County cross country coaches have announced their selections for the Fifth Annual Blair County Cross Country All-Star Team.
Bellwood-Antis placed Aaron Bell on the Boys First Team and Allison Cherry on the Girls First Team and also placed Kyle Shiffler and Will Edwards on the Boys Second Team.
Tyrone girls Angel Diehl and Rebbeca Mogle were named to the Second Team and Jim Gehret was selected to the Boys Second Team.
Aaron Bell, a sophomore, repeats from the First Team last year and was the top runner on the Blue Devils Mountain Conference team that won both the league and the Conference meet. Aaron had eight top finishes during the past season and three more seconds, finished 15th overall at the Big Valley Invitational, 16th at the St. Francis Invitational and 29th at Districts.
Allison Cherry moves up to the First Team as a junior, after two Second Team nods during her freshman and sophomore seasons. A team captain and Mountain Conference All-Star, Allison had nine first place finishes and one second during the regular season. She was 14th at Big Valley and 17th at the Altoona Invitational and 20th at Districts.
Kyle Shiffler was the Blue Devils Number two runner this year as a senior for B-A coach Julie Roseborough, also garnered a Second Team selection in 2001. Kyle had five second place finishes during the season and two third places and was 20th at Districts.
Will Edwards, a junior, was the Blue Devils Number Three runner in 2002. Will had three second place finishes, three thirds and fouth-fourth place finishes.
Rebbeca Mogle was a first year runner as a sophomore for Tyrone, who bettered her times consistently as the season progressed and will be one of four returning Lady Eagles for coach Tammy Snyder.
Angel Diehl completes her cross country career with a Second Team selection as a senior. Angel was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Eagles.
Jim Gehret, a junior, was the Eagles top runner during the 2002 cross country season and is a three-year letterwinner for Tyrone. Jimmie was seventh at the Mountain Conference Meet in Double-A and had two first- and two second-place finishes during the season.
