The Tyrone Junior High Girls basketball squad lost a game to Indian Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
Tiffany Bradford fronted the Lady Eagles with a game-high 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.
“The defense did a good job for us early,” said Tyrone coach Kerry Naylor. We lost a close one to them the first time we played them and we allowed less points this time. Our offense comes and goes and we didn’t have it today.”
The seventh/eighth grade Lady Eagles won their game edging the Indian Valley seventh/eighth graders 14-13.
Brooke Garbinsky led the Lady Eagles with six and Stefani Bryan and Kayla Corle each had six rebounds.
“Brooke did an real good job,” said coach Naylor. “She stepped it up and led the offense, She wants to lead and that is unusual in a seventh grader, who is used to scoring a lot. She has really expanded her game. All of those younger girls really want to win and aren’t afraid of anybody. We played hard today and with no big scorers, everybody had to step up.”
