In the second week of the Tuesday Three-onThree Basketball League at the Tyrone YMCA, Joshua House improved to 4-0 to stay on top in the league standings.
Joshua House (4-0) defeated Team # 5 (2-2) 34-26 with Craig Hunter netting 16 points for Joshua and Kurt Melton leading Team # 5 with 11 points. In the second game, Joshua House, behind Jim Kilmartin’s 20 points again defeated Team # 5 32-26 with Kurt Melton again leading Team # 5 with 13 points.
Team # 7 (2-2) twice edged Old Timers (32-29 and 33-31) to even their record at 2-2. In the first game, Josh Heller led Team # 7 with 12 points and Jeff Adams 19 points highlighted the Old Timers effort. In game two, Justin Houck had a dozen for Team # 7 and Adams again led Old Timers (0-4) with 11 dingers.
Evergreen Farms burned Mavericks twice to stay undefeated at 4-0, In the opening game won by Evergreen Farms 33-21, Travis Anderson had 14 points for Evergreen Farms and Mike Ashcroft led Mavericks (2-2) with 12. In game two, Evergreen Farms won 32-24 behind 21 points by Anderson which was high for the night, while Ashcroft had 16 for Mavericks, who fell to 2-2.
In the only other action, J-House (2-2) won two from P. S. Printing (0-4) by almost identical scores of 33-18 and 33-17. In the first game, Mark Kosoglow had 17 points for J-House and Luke Rhoades led P. S. printing with seven points. Then in game two, Nick Cushion had 18 points for J-House and Abe Harpster had eight for P. S. Printing.

J-House improved to 4-2 with a pair of wins over Team #7. Mark Kosglow scored 16 points inthe first game for J-House who won 32-25, while Josh Heller and Jason Helsel had eight each for Team #7. In th second contest won by J-House, Nick Cushion fronted the winners with 14 points, while Jason Miller netted 13 for Team #7, which droped to 2-4.
Team #5 upped their record to 4-2 with two wins over Mavericks. Kurt Melton was high scorere for Team #5 in both games. In game one, a 32-20 win for Team #5, Melton scored 10 points and Mike Ashcroft had eight points for Mavericks. In game two, won by Team #5 32-22, Melton scored 10 and Ashcroft had a game-high 11 points as Mavericks fell to 2-4.
Joshua House (6-0) remained undefeated with two wins over P. S. Printing, winning 32-20 behnd 12 points from Lance Grimes and Jim Kilmartin had 25 points, a league-best total for the Tuesday night 3-on-3 league in a 32-22 win in the second game. Luke Rhoades led P. S. Printing (0-6) in game one and Fraank Fedeli popped in five points in game two.
Old Timers (2-4) picked up two easy wins via forfeit over Evergreen Farms (4-2).
Girls Basketball League
Sept, 29
John Ramsey, CPA (1-0) opened play on Sunday with an 18-6 win over O’s Sew Shop, behind 10 points from Kiley Dick and six from Jenna Morgan. Amy Lewis was the leading scorer for O’s Sew Shop (0-1) with three points.
State Farm (1-0) won their opening game over VFW 29-17. Rachel Emigh led State Farm with 16 points and Liz Erickson had 10 points for VFW (0-1).
In the final game, Elks (1-0) defeated Med-Center Pharmacy (0-1) 25-15 with eight points from Cassie Baird and seven by Arianne Miller. Paris Hardin scored 13 of Med-Center Pharmacy’s points.
