Well its been a ride these past four years and I loved every minute of it so far.
We started off by going through the most dreadful two weeks of the summer conditioning camp. It went alright though, it was by far the most fun I have ever had in football. Probably because of the way coach Gressler and I joked around all day or maybe it was because of coach Elvey and I thinking of new plays that probably would only work in Arena Football. No I know, the true reason it was coach
Franco yelling at me just as much as he does every year. Next came three a days. WOW! What a relief to get those out of the way. I didn’t care though I knew every team in the United States was going through exactly well not really exactly what we go through if you know what I mean.
Finally comes the week of Bellwood. I never thought it would come but it finally has. I feel we are very excited and ready for the always tough and skilled Blue Devils. Many people aren’t giving us a shot this year they are saying that we are going to be worse then we were a year ago.
We are going to make a lot of people change there minds on that idea this year. This year we have worked harder than any of the four years that I have been here by far and everyone has had a positive attitude with it and is pushing them self just the extra step we need to be succesful.
As many of the people already know of the passing of one of my friends and teammates Randy Estright. He will not only be part of the team. He will be our captain which is well deserved.
Back to the coaches. As many of you know, we still have coach Meredith who is believed to bleed Orange and Black. Well I have seen him bleed its not orange and black, but he does put a lot of time into the program and is a key coach for the offensive line.
Coach Elvey, what a coach. He is my kind of man. He is almost a kid. He went on to Waynesburg College after his great playing days at BG. He has taught me a lot throughout my carrer and I owe most of my success so far to him.
Bellwood is going to give us the best test we will probably have all season. We have to be ready as senior leaders and the sophmores must be ready to step up and play like seniors.
Like the great wrestler Vader says, “ Its time! Its time! Its game time time time!!!”
