Collection box to continue through Dec. 19
The Kiwanis Club of Tyrone collected over 250 coats this past Saturday morning at Bressler’s Foodmart and Sports.
Several Kiwanis members were on hand at Bressler’s parking lot to collect the coats.
Additionally, approximately 50 coats were collected at the collection boxes at District Judge Fred Miller’s office.
Albemarle Corporation and its employees also collected coats throughout the past week to further assist the Kiwanis Club in helping the Tyrone Salvation Army.
The exact number of donated coats will be determined in the near future.
All coats collected by the Kiwanis Club of Tyrone were donated to the Tyrone Salvation Army for use by residents of northern Blair County. As in the past, the northern Blair County again showed its willingness to help others in need.
Although the coat drive was quite successful, the Kiwanis Club will continue its coat drive through Friday, December 19. Anyone interested in donating coats may continue to do so by dropping them off at District Judge Fred B. Miller’s office on Old Route 220 in front of radio station WTRN. The Northern Blair District Court is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A large collection box has been placed in the District Court lobby for any coat donations.
As previously indicated by the Salvation Army, there is an extra demand this year for children’s coats. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
