Faces & Places Ministries is now in its seventh year in Tyrone, providing a variety of activities for area residents, including plays, dinner theaters, children’s activities, coffee houses and fellowship groups.
The organization is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through creative art forms.
Over the years, Faces & Places has been ministering the gospel in over 250 churches, to over 15,000 and over 2,500 children.
As the group continued to grow, the realization was made that a permanent home was needed.
Last year Faces & Places Ministries found a home at 954 Logan Avenue, behind Vaux Electronics. With the opening of Faces & Places Ministries Center for the Christian Arts, the possibilities became endless.
Currently, the organization is planning an Italian Charm Show fundraiser.
Interested individuals are invited to the Faces & Places Ministries Center for the Christian Arts to browse the 3,000 plus Italian charms which will be on hand Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be charms for bracelets, keychains, watches and more.
The charms make great gifts for Mothers Day, not to mention, birthdays, graduation or any special occasion.
Almost all of the charms will sell this weekend for $3 each.
With the growing popularity of Italian charm bracelets, it’s hard to remember a time without them.
However, for those unsure of what an Italian charm is, it is a series of individual modular links hooked together on a stretchy band to form a single Italian charm bracelet. A typical Italian charm bracelet is comprised of eighteen links, but can be adjusted to fit each individual.
Designed in Italy, the Italian charm craze caught on and in the 1990s, American tourists brought the idea back to the United States.
The bracelets are personalized by replacing the blank links with individually designed Italian charms. While traditional charms dangle, Italian charms feature individual pieces soldered flat onto the surface of the link.
Italian Charms are compatible across brands due to standardized sizing and the modular design means that the charms are interchangeable and can be switched out for a new look.
The bracelets can be assembled in many styles, for example, they can be grouped to follow a theme such as family, a specific color, career or hobby.
So, if you need to add some new charms to your bracelet, want to start a bracelet or if you just want to see what Italian charms are all about, stop by and check out the Faces & Places facility while purchasing unique Italian charms and helping a local ministry.
