It’s that time of year again to start preparing for the Christmas season, and sign-ups for “Treasures for Children” will be held Thursday, October 9 and Friday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Center, 908 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone.
If anyone in the area is in need of assistance with Christmas toys and other gifts, they are advised to sign up at this time.
It should be noted that all Christmas food baskets will be handled through the Tyrone Food Bank. This sign-up is for Christmas toys only.
Also, the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Center has a store which supplies various clothing and household items available free of charge to those in need.
The store is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The public can definitely help out as well because the Service Center is now in need of clean, gently used fall and winter clothing for men, women and children.
Donations are graciously accepted during store hours.
