Clifford Demarest Hawn, 56, went to join the Lord unexpectedly at his home, The Deforrest Apartments, 400 9th Street, Huntingdon, Pa. at 9:30 a.m. on June 26, 2008.
Born January 1, 1952 in Rome, New York, he was the son of Dr. Harold and Eleanore Hawn, 724 Warm Springs Ave., Huntingdon, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Lyndsey Hawn of Deland, Fl.; two aunts, Jeanette Rumberger and Joyce Parks, both of Huntingdon and a cousin, William Rumberger of Huntingdon.
Clifford was a graduate of Maury High School, in Norfolk, Va. as a body repair specialist. He also graduated from a truck driving school in Richmond and drove trucks for trucking companies in Richmond and Norfolk. He then served as a night watchman and guard for Stoneman, Inc. He then transferred to the venting company that served the Norfolk Navel Base.
Clifford served for a number of years as a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon both as a choir member and Secretary for the Sunday school. He enjoyed playing his flute and guitar, and was very active in singing and playing in choirs of the First Methodist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tyrone.
There will be no public viewing. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Centre County Memorial Park, State College with Pastor Jack Wiley of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tyrone officiating.
