The community is invited to attend a free health fair on the campus of Tyrone Hospital on Friday, May 16 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will have something of interest for every member of the family, from children through senior citizens.
The event will provide health screenings and information on a variety of health topics including but not limited to: colitis, Crohn’s Disease, diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, as well as other items.
Health-related organizations that will participate in the event along with Tyrone Hospital include: the American Red Cross, Easter Seals, Women’s Crisis Center, Asera Hospice Care, Epworth Manor, AMED, and others.
The Tyrone Police will be at the event to do bicycle checks and car seat safety checks. The Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Volunteer Fire Company will have a fire truck at the event, and firemen will be available to answer questions. Emergency medical personnel from AMED will have an ambulance on site and will also be available to answer questions.
Hubie, the balloon artist, will be on the hospital campus to provide entertainment. A professional bass fisherman and boat will also be on campus during the event.
Health fair attendees can also enjoy free refreshments provided compliments of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary.
Health fair exhibits will be located in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital and also outside at various locations on the hospital campus.
