Edward E. Shollenberger, Jr., 80, formerly of Tyrone, and a resident of 161 Godfrey Lane, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, August 26, 2005 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Campus.
He was born August 30, 1924 in Tyrone, the son of Edward E. Shollenberger and Margaret (Rhoades).
He was married November 28, 1945 to Norma Lavone Griffin.
He is survived by his wife and three children: Karen Marlow of Hollidaysburg, Charles E. Shollenberger and his wife Catherine of Athens, Ga. and Cynthia S. Fry and her husband Barry of Hollidaysburg; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Carmen Reed of Doylestown.
He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Duncansville and a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1942.
He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and enjoyed hunting, fishing, music and singing in the church choir.
He retired in 1988 as a technician from the Environmental Protection Agency and was previously employed at Westvaco Corp., the Tyrone Post Office and as a dental technician for Dr. Lake in Tyrone.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 4 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Barry L. Fry officiating. Interment will be at the Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
