Mildred H. Dawson, 81, of 1807 Madison Ave., Tyrone, died Monday Feb. 21, 2005 at her residence.
She was born June 30, 1923 in Tyrone, a daughter of James C. and Malinda (Barto) Waite.
On Aug. 26, 1944 in Tyrone she married Thomas G. Dawson. He died Sept. 24, 1965.
Surviving is a daughter Sandra L. Mater and husband Dave of Tyrone, a son Kenneth J. and wife Debbie of Sickles Corner, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother Donald J. of Tyrone and Lester Ostrasky of Chambersburg who was raised in the home.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Barry and Thomas Dawson, Jr. and a brother Charles Waite.
Mrs. Dawson was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed as a clerk at the Ziffs II Store in Tyrone in the early 70s.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Todd Templeton officiating. interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m., until the time of services.
