The Central PA Wolves Ice Hockey team and the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders played to a 2-2 draw on Dec. 23, 2004.
Bishop Guilfoyle opened the scoring with a goal in the first period in the contest played at Galactic Ice and then moved ahead 2-1 early in the third period.
The Wolves were able to answer with a score each time, but in the end neither team was able to push a goal into the net in the final 9:17 of the third period, or the two-minute overtime period.
High-scoring Craig Thompson was on the business end of both scores for Central PA. Thompson (Spring Cove) tied the game 1-1, with just 0:27 to play in the second period on an assist by Andy Shoop (Spring Cove), then tied the game again one final time, with 9:17 left in regulation off an assist by Seth Duffy (Bedford).
Wolves goal keeper, Fred Dorman (Bellwood-Antis) stopped all but two of 22 shots on goal by the Marauders.
The next action for the Central PA Varsity Wolves (3-2-3 in league play, 5-4-3 overall) are Monday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m. vs. Derry and Thursday, January 13 at 8:10 p.m. vs. Indiana Blades. Both games will be played at Galactic Ice.
Bishop Guilfoyle is 4-1-1 in the regular season with their only tie, plus a loss to the Wolves during the Dean Patterson Little Stanley Cup Tournament.
