The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team suffered their first loss on Tuesday night at Bishop Guilfoyle.
All four games were close-fought contests with the Lady Blue Devils taking the first game 25-23 before Bishop Guilfoyle came back with three games in a row 25-21, 25-23, 25-23 to record their fifth win in seven matches. The Bellwood-Antis girls fall to 6-1.
Stephanie Hatch had 14 kills and 10 blocks. Lauren Carter added 13 kills, and 14 blocks and Ashley Edevane had 23 digs.
The Bellwood-Antis junior varsity also lost their first match of the season to the Lady Marauder Jayvees with scores of 19-25, 25-12, 13-15.
Ashley Oswald had seven blocks, seven kills, and three service points for the B-A junior varsity.
Bellwood-Antis travels to Claysburg-Kimmel on Thursday to try to begin a new win streak. Match time is 6 p.m.
