In a critical Big 8 battle, the Lewistown junior high football team scored single touchdowns in second and third quarters and limited the Tyrone junior high squad to a single fourth quarter score for a 12-8 victory.
The win gave the Little Panthers the upper hand toward winning the 2002 Big 8 Junior High championship . This is just the second year for the junior high title and Tyrone is the defending champ.
Lewistown is undefeated at 4-0, while Tyrone falls to 4-1 in the Big 8 and 4-2 overall.
Leonard Wilson scored on a two-yard run to break the ice for the Golden Eagles in the fourth quarter.
