The Tyrone Girls Volleyball team defeated Juniata Valley in two straight games on Thursday evening.
The Lady Eagles won easily by identical 15-2, 15-2 scores to improve their 2002 record to 9-2.
Sara Mease had six service points, Lauren Haag added two kills and Stephanie Catich had two blocks.
“Some of our younger girls got to see some varsity time,” said Tyrone coach Dave Eckberg, “ and they did a nice job. You have to build for the following years whenever you get the opportunity. Our seniors did what they had to do to get us a lead and did a nice job serving short, which is something that I wanted them to work on.”
The Tyrone Junior Varisty girls also defeated the Juniata Valley Jayvees in two straight games, 15-7, 15-2 with Emily McKenna getting six service points.
