In a very close match, Huntingdon managed to score a 5-2 win in Central Counties Tennis League action on Wednesday at the Clay Avenue courts.
Hilary McNelis won her first number one singles match in league play. Beth Nelson and Becky Swann lost closely contested matches that turned out to be the swing matches for the day.
Hilary McNelis and Missy Stager won their doubles match 8-4 to improve their Central Counties League record to 6-3.
“I was very hopeful that we could pull this one out because this team deserved to win because of their hard work and dedication,” said Tyrone tennis coach Charles Fitzgerald, “I was very happy with their effort.”
