Tyrone defeated Altoona and Penns Valley on the Sinking Valley Country Club to improve to 5-3 overall and 5-2 in the Central Pennsylvania High School Golf Asociation.
Thad Westley led the Tyrone Golden Eagle golfers with the low score of the day with 38-39 on each nine for a total of 77. Jimmy Gillam (40-40) and Matt Germino (39-41) followed closely with 80s and Derrick Soellner carded 42-44 doe an 18-hole total of 86.
Tyrone defeated Altoona 323-344 and Penns Valley 323-361. Juniata Valley had one golfer, Tony Price who fired an 85 on rounds of 40-45. Altoona falls to 7-3 overall and 5-3 in league play, while Penns Valley falls to 3-6 and 2-5 respectively.
Rick Yeagly led Penns Valley with a 40-42 total of 82 and Nick Covino had the best score for Altoona with 38-45 for a total of 83.
The Tyrone golf team will be at the Bolton Invitational on Monday, Sept. 23, for their next outing
