The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team hosted the Claysburg-Kimmel girls on Thursday night.
The B-A Lady Blue Devils defeated Claysburg in two straight games 15-13, 15-9 to improve to 3-2 on the season for head coach Jennel Miller.
Kali Schreckengost led the effort with 12 service points, including five aces and also contributed five kills. Lindsay Dearing added eight service points, five of them aces and had 13 assists. Jamie Miller led in kills with seven. Ashley Smith and Kristin Eakin scored three points each.
The Junior Varsity girls (4-1) lost for the first time during the current season. Claysburg-Kimmel edged the Lady Blue Devil Jayvees in three games, 12-15, 15-13, 9-15.
The next match for the Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball squad will be Tuesday, Sept. 24 at West Branch. The match will begin at 6 p.m.
