ºAaron Bell and Alison Cherry led their respective Bellwood-Antis teams to sweeps in a quad meet at West Branch on Tuesday.
The boys team earned wins over Bald Eagle Area (15-50), Bellefonte (15-45) and host West Branch (18-41) to improve their record to 6-1.
Bell toped the boys race with a time of 18:00, Kyle Shiffler was third in 18:20, Will Edwards sixth in 19:17, Dan Himes seventh in 20:01 and Jason Nedimyer just behind in eighth in 20:02. Teddy Keramidas also cracked the top 10 for the Blue Devils with a ninth place finish in 20:17.
Cherry won the girls race for the Lady Blue Devils with a time of 21:21. Lydia Gray was fifth in 25:54, Arin Cherry seventh in 27:36, Amanda Houtz eighth in 27:43 and Heather Taylor ninth in 28:06. Ashley Edevane added a 10th place finish for the Lady Blue Devils coming in 10th in 28:35 as Bellwood-Antis put six runners in the top 10 in both the boys and girls races, quite a dominating figure, even though only five runners count toward the team score.
The Lady Blue Devils improve to 4-3 on the season.
The next meet for the B-A cross country teams will be a tri-match on Tuesday, sept. 24 at home against Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola. Meet time is set for 4 p.m.
