A few seats are available on the bus for the Colonel Crowther Foundation’s trip to Chancellorsville, Virginia on Saturday, October 11.
The highlight of this trip is a tour of the battlefield conducted by senior National Park Historian Greg Mertz and the dedication of a panel honoring Colonel James Crowther to be placed on the National Park Service’s Wall of Honor at the Chancellorsville Visitors center.
The bus will leave Tyrone at 8 a.m. One stop will be made in Bedford for people there who are joining the tour. A documentary concerning the Battle of Chancellorsville will be viewed on the bus. The bus will arrive in Fredericksburg near noon. A buffet lunch will be served at Shoney’s restaurant before proceeding to the Chancellorsville Visitor’s Center. Upon arrival at the center, a senior NPS historian will lead a special tour of the battlefield focusing on the 110th and 84th PVI. When the tour is complete, tour goers will participate in the hanging and dedication of Colonel Crowther’s panel. After the ceremony there will be a buffet dinner at Old Country Buffet. The bus will return to Tyrone after dinner, stopping at Bedford on the way if necessary.
The cost for the tour including meals is $70 per person. Included in this price is the cost of the bus, the driver’s tip, cost of meals, and a contribution to the NPS. No profit is included for the Foundation, but a contribution box will be onboard for those who would like to make a donation.

Full payment in advance with the completed form is requested. Seats will be filled in the order that reservation payments are received.
Credit card payments are accepted. A four percent service charge will be added for credit card payments to offset the foundation’s cost of processing the payment.
